Default RE: Air Hogs Aero Ace!

ORIGINAL: FERNDALE AIR FORCE

This is the canard mod. I took the tail stabilizer from a guillows plane and cut it down to 35mm x 23mm x 45mm x 12mm. Once I had my finished size I wrapped the balsa in gift wrap scotch tape, this is to give the canard better strength. I then cut slits in the airframe about 10mm up from the bottom of the airframe, and starting about 15mm back from the nose. The slit should be about 25mm long. It should be 3-4mm deep, be careful, the wire loom is behind where you are cutting. I then take the tape and tape over the slits, being careful to leave tape on either side. Then I cut the tape enough to allow the canard to slide into place, the goal of this is to help keep pressure on the canard. I recommend a new razor blade for the cut. You then simply put the canards in place. No glue. The included pictures show my favored angle, but I have flown with the canards almost straight out.

If you need more info, or I need to reformat in someway let me know, Tim
