Vuth
I did get your email and I sent you a reply.
1. We do not have a sponsor. Our flying site is on property that belongs to the city I live in. If you notice in the pictures there is a race car track next to our field. Next to that is a motorcycle race track. Further east from that is a place to ride horses. All this belongs to the city. We rent the land for $10 a year. We did all the work and do all the maintenance. It took us 5 years of work and many donations from local businesses to get our site done. Elk City is a town of about 11,000 people. In our country smaller towns like ours try and have nice areas so people will want to live here. This is why they help us out.
2. Flaps are not needed. Most RC planes will land and take off in a short area. Flaps will make the landings slower and use less runway. This is why people use them. Warbirds have a higher wing loading. That is they have more weight compared to the size of the wing. So a warbird will benefit to make the landing slower. Also the flaps down make more lift so the takeoff can also be shorter.
3. A high wing plane is generally more stable. A low wing is more aerobatic. Both high and low wings usually have dihedral. That is the wing is higher at the tip than it is at the root next to the fuselage. This makes the plane more stable. It allows air to wash off the wing tips and help keep the wings level. A mid wing is flat and is the same airfoil top and bottom. This makes the plane plane perform the same upright or inverted. Also when you do a roll a mid wing will be axial. I high wing or a low wing will do a kind of barrel roll. That is the fuselage will not stay on a level plane when the plane rolls. So when choosing a plane you should consider how you want to fly and what your skill level is. A low wing can be a good second plane. There are several good low wings that land like a trainer but can do more tricks in the air. The best two are the Goldberg Tiger 2 and the Sig Four Star 40. Both of these can be flown with a 40 size engine or converted to electric. I dont know what planes you can get in your country. If you see something you like send me a picture or a link and I can tell you what I think. Have you soloed? What kind of plane do you fly now?
