it does seem that there are not many ARF's in this class but it also seems that there is some change in the industry

Very true, they are however slow to change... but they're changing. I guess you can only sell so many ARF P-51's, P-47's, Cubs, Spits, Edges and Extras etc. Then the business slows down. I used to work in a Hobby Shop a long time ago, when I was in the business we all had to adapt and change to become successful in the Market.
My boss failed to do that along with the lack of advertisement, and our store closed in 1996. It's part of the supply and demand thing to keep it all going. Online Sales is king these days, so it's good to hire a good Web Designer. That's something our Hobby Shop didn't have back then. Personally I buy all my Planes Online... my Fuel, Batteries, Glue, Paint, Ultra-kote, Hardware and Tools I buy at a Local Hobby Shop.
