RE: Air Hogs Aero Ace!
I also have half a dozen of these little foam bi-planes. Ive got two tx's on c and two on b so I was able to turn mine off while in air and let the wife turn hers on and she actually kept it up the entire time till it ran out. They are a lot of fun but ive noticed with 4 of them that they dip a little bit... With power off I can give it a slight hand launch and it tries to climb till it stalls... Being an engineer I was able to spot them being tail heavy straight out of the box... my fix was spliting the nose open and useing elmers glue i inserted (3) 5.5 grain bb's. Just normal .177 cal. bb's from a bb gun and they fly better that way. Although I saw the planes with the bottom wings cut off I clipped both wings back to the strut and it seemed to fly a bit better and handle the wind a little more. I was thinking the other way and adding another section of wings in the center and converting to a tri-plane for a really slow flying plane. I bet adding wing area and moving the motors out towards the wingtips more would make it fly slower and be able to turn sharper for indoor flight in a living room.. but havent tried it yet so cant attest to that.. I guess I could do that and use the bottom wings for the tri-plane and see if the mono-wing would work better.. Its all in fun so we will see but if your asking for the perfect trainer...thats most likely it.. Buddy-cord?? Yeah right, get a 30 dollar plane that requires no mant. and that is almost impossable to break, one that flies slow and is eazy to control.. thats about it right there...
