Yes the ring and pinion is a VERY good idea and highly recommended!

Thanks 46u - the MTSS clutch bell is a 15T, so I'm guessing I'll also have to drop in the 47T spur from the 18SS?

BTW the ring and pinion, do you happen to have Tower Hobbies part numbers for those?
