I didn't remove anything, I just switched to an aluminum spinner. They are more money of course, but the fit is flush against the fly wheel...no warping or vibration at all. I have had several flights at not one problem yet. The spinner was about $25 CDN but is well worth. I had on a 2 bladed plastic spinner before but the darn thing kept warping no matter how tight everything was.
