Hi Guys,
When I did mine the wood for that area (in my opinion) was not of good quality so what I did is made up new ribs out of ply and doubled them up and added dowels for additional strength, when it came to the rails I replaced the stock one with oak of the same size and added blind nuts in the appropriate locations for the retracts to screw into. it may be an overkill but at least I know I got the strength where needed.
