RE: NEW CESSNA 182!!
Perhaps somebody could tell me why the suggested engine(s) are so big. I flew a TopFlight 182 with an O.S. Surpass .91FS and it flew just fine. Take offs in thick grass were no problem and in the air it performed very scale like. As far as I can tell, it was about the same size, weight and wing loading as the CMP 182. So why do I need a larger engine? This is definitely not an aerobat like the Cessna 152. ???
Robart makes an excellent nose gear that will work on this. They have 2 models of Robo Strut. Get the Off-set one. It is very strong. I first had the full yoke one and found them to be very weak for this weight bird, landing in somewhat resistant grass.
Other than that, I am very skepticle of the CMP because of the low price. There seems to be a great deal of attention paid to design detail.......but ?. So, let us know how it is.
