RE: CG SUKHOI SU026MX
I built one of the original kits of CG and powered it with the Webra 1.20 engine. It came in at just under 10 lbs. Used glass cowl and under belly pan. Engine ate it's bearings at about 110 flights when the cage failed on the rear bearing. Second engine ran fine until the Sullivan fueling system failed and drained 1/2 a tank out while in the air. Was doing a snap roll about 15 feet above the ground when the engine quit and it pancaked in. It now a pile of parts waiting to rebuild.
Good - it could roll into a knife edge as soon as the wheels left the ground and climb out with the wingtip just inches off the deck. It also has enough drag that you can slip it right to the deck from impossible heights and then make a wheels on landing. It just falls from the sky without building speed.
Bad - Don't think the 120 is enough, but then APC prop selections are much wider today with bigger diameter and lower pitch. I could never get it to tumble, as it is pretty light. It did an OK harrier with quite a bit of wing rocking, but I wasn't reflexing the ailerons up. I also ripped off the landing gear several times, though in all fairness I must have done 3000 touch and go landing. This was the early wing mounted gear.
Overall, a good airplane from about 10 years ago.
