you loose your model & if the reciever battery fails you loose your model.
So you have just doubled the chances of battery failure.

He is quite right Pedro, those sort of systems that separate the rx and servo power supplies make things worse not better, from the point of view of a battery failure. They don't provide redundancy in case of failure, they double the probability of battery failure. To get redundancy you would need to carry 4 batteries - 2 for the rx and 2 for the servos.
