RE: Official RCU Fliton Inspire 60 build thread!
For the review I am not going to replace any of the stock hardware. I want to review the plane as is unless its just absolutely necessary. However, I can see already that the pushrods are relatively heavy. I will probably replace these later on with Carbon Fiber Pushrods with Titanium ends. You can buy them as a set from Central Hobbies. There is also a fair amount of weight in the tailwheel assembly that can be eliminated with an MK tailwheel from central. Those are two places I can see right away that there is potential weight savings. Not a lot, but maybe 2-3 oz total.
The landing gear are super light. They have a really nice paint job so I cannot tell what they are made of but they are LIGHT. Also the wing tube is carbon Fiber.
The control surfaces are huge RVM! I like that. The ailerons have almost as much chord as the wing and the elevators are huge as well.[8D]
