Yo!
After the success if the mono mod I thought I'd go the whole Hog (geddit) and do the extended winglets mod. Fixed the lower wings to the upper using v thin/ narrow control surface tape. I chamfered the ends a bit to get a straight line dihedral along teh whole length.
At lunchtime today I tried it out, with my ARS Tx. Flies like a bird! 2 Fields, 2 angry farmers and 1 ruined pair of shoes later I found it unscathed. This was in a breeze that was imperceptible at ground level but at c 10 ft height and more it couldn't penetrate even the tiniest breeze and SLOWLY moved backwards even when kept facing into wind. Inrease the power, up higher she goes, stronger breeze, a bit further away!
I'm going to keep this mod for indoor experiments this winter and revert to stubby mono for outdoors - until I gut it that is.
Cheers
Ayrton
PS Patrick I posted on the mono mod a page or so ago - well worth doing
PPS Tim is there a pic of your stir stick (what they?) mod here anywhere?
