BTW, G3 has this FREE!
When I referred to you as a staunch G3 supporter before, I was understating. After combing these threads for opinions of ALL the sims, I'd have to say you're G3 obsessed. What made me post this is that after reading so many of your posts, by the time I read this one I *had* to think "This guy MUST have G3 tatooed somewhere on his body, and that tat is seeping somthing similar to liquid happiness into his bloodstream".

I owned G3 for a few months, running version .430, and did enjoy it. Was a great game. What I'm interested in however is a great *sim*. I'll echo GeneG in that I progressed very rapidly in my 3D flying skills within G3 and could do it all; hover, I could mush around in an upright harrier all day long, rolling harrier 360's to the left and to the right scant inches off the deck. However, in the really real world (I'm far from novice, been flying IMAC patterns for years....just new to 3D) I couldn't even hover. I have since learned to hover very well, learned to deal with wing rock in an upright harrier and can even do rollers (in a straight line so far) and for grins went into the LHS to see how G3 felt by comparison. It was easy to fall into the old habits I'd acquired and everything was so easy. The problem is that the old G3 habits do not reflect my real world experiences.

My hope was/is that fsone can harness that realism so that my skills don't have to atrophy in the off-season. G3 was a lot of fun, I enjoyed it, but it wasn't the ticket to realism I had hoped. If fsone feels like G3 then I'm not interested, and certainly not if it's *worse*. I just have a hard time objectively viewing fsone commentary from someone who's living the G3 dream.
