Default RE: Thunder Tiger F8F Bearcat ARF - Navy Version

I've completed assembling mine. It's powered by an electric outrunner motor and 9s3p 6300 batteries. Hopefully the maiden will be this weekend. The only issue I have with the model is the fact that it's way over 9.9 lbs. I used standard servos, etc and it ended up taking a lot of weight in the nose to balance. It's a shade under 11 lbs RTF now. I don't think you could get it any lighter.

Since it was designed for glow, I guess the designers figured that the extra weight of fuel in the tank (it's in front of the CG point) would make it fly well enough. I'd hate to dead stick this one at the recommended weight. Not only would you not have an engine, you'd be massively tail heavy to boot.

I don't know if the elevator flutter problem prevalent in the Rare Bear version is going to rear it's ugly head. I don't see any obvious changes in the design.
