Default RE: stripped servo gears

if the spring on the servo saver is really loose then the steering will become sloppy.

what the servo saver is supposed to do is allow the front tires to move when there is an excessive force applied to them like in a crash. if the spring is too tight like the way that you described then it will not absorb the impact. the impact will be transmitted right to the servo. if that happens then the servo may strip.

the servo isnt bad. there are better more expensive ones out there but this one will do the job if it is treated well.

if i were you, i would take this opportunity to upgrade to a hi torque servo (really hi torque, like 200 in/oz)

a good example of one is the Hobbico CS-150. it goes for 40 bucks on towerhobbies and has 193 in/oz of torque
