On another note: When recording a flight and then trying to capture it using FRAPS, the recording plays back at about 1/16th the original speed. I"m used Fraps to capture G3 and never had a problem so its not an issue with computer performance. What did the FS One team use to capture the demo/marketing videos?
Recordings play back at full speed when running normally within the sim.
If I'm reading things right here, the super-slow speed is when FRAPS is running and the sim runs in playback mode at the same time. Be sure that you are in fact playing back and full speed and not inadvertently hitting the backspace key option and playing back in slow motion using the gadget controls.
All of the raw footage for the demo videos were made using FRAPS.

FS One let's you set the sim window size to be whatever you want. For FRAPS, 320x240 works nicely. That's the size of the demo videos.
BEFORE entering 320x240 for the window size, do this. PRACTICE setting the size to a small window and then go back to full size. Start w/ 640x480, and then go back to 1280x1024. Then go smaller and go back again. The font will get smaller and smaller. By the time you try 320x240, the font is tiny and going back requires clicking on miniature boxes, hitting backspace to clear the old values, and then typing, say, 1280x1024. The font is not legible at this small 320x240 size. Hence practice to get the hang of typing in numbers that you cannot see.
If things get messed up, they can be corrected by editing the options.txt file in the Options folder of the FS One install directory. FIRST exit FS One. Open the options.txt file and enter the screen resolution that you want on the ResolutionX and ResolutionY lines (see these lines below in the section in the options.txt file). Then restart FS One and all should be fine again.
[VIDEO]
AutoFullscreen = 0
FullscreenMode = 0
WindowLocationX = 0
WindowLocationY = 0
ResolutionX = 1280
ResolutionY = 1024
VideoFreq = 60
AutoCentering = 1
SplitScreenHorizontal = 1
SinglePlayerUseSplitScreen = 0
TwoPlayerUseSplitScreen = 0
Another tip: In the Options menu there's a group called Messages. You can turn off Messages so that these do not show up in FRAPS recordings.
