Looks like manual is the way to go! Weight/complexity savings, a free channel on my radio (for smoke!!) and one less thing to accidentally shut off in flight. Speaking of that, I have been contemplating some sort of switch guard to prevent me from hitting the kill switch in flight. I fly with my thumbs and index fingers, so that puts the rest of my digits on top of the radio and I'm forever flipping un-used channels inadvertently.
