I had a BVM Phantom with the air adjustable nose strut and it was reliable, never leaked, and did look cool. The Rhino rotated perfectly with the strut extended. Twice I took off without the strut extended and the F-4 did rotate but it took more distance and speed to rotate. The strut extension was mixed with throttle and I had the mix switch in the wrong position, wasn't the failure of the strut.
