RE: Clancy Aviation Stagger Bee Instructions
I had / have a Stagger with wingerons. [&o]
It lasted two flights. [:'(]
Although the reviews were good on the design, I found that it was hard to fly, very light construction (made for electric flight) and unforgiving. There is NO suspention in it, so if a landing is hard it does damage to the bottom wing.
Clancy is in love with elastic bands, and it shows on this AC. Both wings and wheels are held in place with elastics - this may be efficient for weight, but it is a pain for assembly.
I powered it with an OS .20, which seemed to move it along OK, but the space available for the fuel tank, engine battery & servos was very limited and I'm sure they contributed to the hard landing and consequent damage.
The Wingeron assembly is a real work of art, but be careful when applying glue to the brass tubes - if the glue runs too much it will foul the operation of the Wingerons. I would recommend a thin coat of vasoline to prevent this problem.
I still have the plans and modifications available, PM me if you wish.
Good Luck!
