Default RE: MK "Magic" Plans...

Mine was the Hobby Barn glass version of the magic. Other versions probably had subtle differences. My first pattern plane. Colors and pattern was taken from a magazine picture of one of Prettner's Magics. I used the pattern and colors for many years on different planes. My planes were identified as earth colors as opposed to the red white and blue of most pattern planes of the time.

The plane was all painted hand rubbed laquer. I had no clue as to the meaning of weight for my first pattern plane and it was a lead sled. It did have an adjustable stab though, and initially had wheel well doors that never worked well. Flew well at speed but stalled if too slow. I eventually sold it a the WRAM show.
