RE: Mk variable-pitch prop unit (pictures)
I heard the original street price was around $200, but the reality was that not just anyone would be "allowed" to own one. From what I understand, the least little prop strike required a trip to the machine shop to replace blades and check runout. MK was concerned about the liability of Joe-Shadetree-Patterndoof having it on his Stuntstik. Still, Futaba produced a radio that allowed the programmability of a channel for prop pitch. I was always puzzled by that. What were we supposed to do with that feature if we couldn't buy a prop?
