Willie was certainly one of the better Master's pilots in our area at that time. If I remember corectly he changed the wing sweep on his Magic's. They were heavy and built like a tank. I remeber him cartwheeling a landing and flying the next round like nothing happened

I also remember going out to Beefsteak Charlies after a contest with Willie and his family as well as a bunch of post contest fliers. Very memorable. It was the first time one of his kids had shrimp to eat (shrimp and salad bar). I believe his comments were "these are good but very crunchy"
