Learning yourself is way doable! It'll cost you a little more but doable. Long story short, my FIRST instructed flight ended up in destruction (i still think it was my instructor's fault... monkeyboy!) So I ran to the LHS bought new gear and started flyin in a subdivision that had only the roads and 3 FOOT WEEDS!!! So until I learned to land I would just cut the throttle and mush it into the weeds. A bottle of glow and a roll of tape and BOO YAH! Learned by myself!

Now for the record I would recomend getting hooked up with a club and an instructor. Your learning curve will be straight up!! Good luck and Git Er Dun!!!
