RE: Chinese Chipmunk
This one is slightly smaller, ~59 1/2 inch wing span. It's funny I did just the opposite of you, it was setup for two aileron servos and I went to one to save a little weight, it was getting a little porky with the bigger engine, and it took 4 oz of lead in the tail to move the CG back to where I wanted it.
On Chinese ARFs I've found you're better off figuring out where it should balance, rather than using their CG. I have a 4M sailplane that I've taken 14oz of lead out of the nose, and I feel it's still a little nose heavy.
My Seagull Super Star they said to balance it at least 2 inch too far forward from where it should be, English is not their first language, and they probably where making chairs last year not airplanes, so the don't know what to tell you or how to tell you, I figure it out myself.
