RE: HANGER-9 ShowTime power source
I have a YS 110 in mine. Although the engine is difficult to learn because its a different sort of system than the saito, once you learn it, its quite spectacular. I got mine for the simple fact that I think the supercharging concept is interesting. The power is just right, IMO. It is by no means "crazy overpowered". It just has unlimited verticle and pull out from a hover is good. I too am just learning some of the 3d flight and I am very happy with the Showtime. If you look at the Showtime thread in this forum, you will see that people trying to 3-d with the Showtime are dissappointed with the Saito 100. People are also satisfied with the Saito 125. I believe that the two engines are similar in price (if you get the YS110 from Central Hobbies --www.centralhobbies.com --about $325). I also like the sound of the YS110 --they do shake a lot though.
Also, if you look on the thread in this forum for the Maxair Velox, you will see in about the middle of the thread, a gentleman with very good knowledge of 3d and engines has tried both a saito 125 and a YS110 in that airframe (velox is just a bit lighter than the showtime, but similar in size and same engine class).
