If he gets with an instructor and turns out to be a natural, like you claim to be, then the instructor will turn him loose as quickly as possible. Meanwhile he will learn in a safe environment, away from those who just go out and fly recklessly and hope they don't hurt someone. he'll also met a group of great guys who also enjoy the hobby.
