I would say we really need to consider ALL the fuse area as well as the horizontal tail. All those area's do give us lift. Compare a profile plane to a full fuse plane and there is a big difference in horizontal surface of the fuse. Mabey thats why the profiles need so much more wing? I realize that a full fuse weighs a lot more than a profile fuse but that full fuse does give us lift also. Just a thought.
