Ok seriously reagan WHAT ARE YOU SAYING? if your gonna give the guy crap dont even post it. this is his first hobby grade car, he odesnt need a radio of that cost, he doesnt need a Nicd for his RX aa's will work fine, therefore he doesnt need the charger, yhe has absolutely no need for a brushless set-up, THIS IS HIS FIRST CAR he needs somthing like a 19T, i guess thats a good car for a begginer, but there are much more durable cars, that he should have less time wrenching on and more time having fun driving, all he needs is a basic charger, and he msot certainly doesnt need 2 4200 Mah batts. He can get 2 if he has extra money. So basically everything you suggested except for maybe the steering servo is complete bull ****.

Now back to the question: Sorry about that car kitten, but once you get deeper into the hobby youl realize how ridiculous it is what he just said. I reccomend you get an off-road car becuase they are generally more durable, and can be drvien both on and off-raod and theya re alot of fun. If your sure you want a kit and arent gonna consider a RTR, then you should get somthing like a Tamiya Drak Impact, and a basic 19T motor, for a little extra speed and power, but you should get that fter you get used to the power of the motor that comes with it.If your considering a Rtr definnetly go with either the the Traxxas stampede, or the traxxas, rustler. there often considered the best begginer Rc car, there increidlbe durable, relieble, and loads of fun. Plus they come with every thing you need.
For your Dark Impact kit you should get these things:

[link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXMFW1&P=7]Tamiya Dark Impact 4WD Kit $139.99[/link]
[link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXASX2**&P=M]Futaba 2PH 2-Channel AM/1 S3003 Servo $42.99[/link]
A Basic, yet very well working radio system, its very durable, and does everything you need it to. also its futaba which basically means its a quality product
[link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXAVN1&P=7]MRC Super Brain 959 Charger $44.99[/link] Basically the msot relible charger out there. Its perfect for what your gonna be usng it for, and will charge your batteries well so they last long
[link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXAXT8&P=7]DuraTrax IntelliSpeed 16T Mild-Mod Reverse ESC $49.9[/link]
This Esc might be a little more then you need, but trust me your gonna eventually wanna upgrade to a faster motor, and this esc will allow you to do so
well the battery pack really depends on how much of your budget youve got left. Basically the higher the MAh number the longer the battery will last.
[link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXNCR1&P=0]DuraTrax 6-Cell 7.2V DTX4200 NiMH Stick Standard $39.99[/link]
One of these will give you about 20 min of runtime before it starts getting low. if you have enough money to gt 2 of these, then definetly do so.

Thats $315 and thats absolutely everything you need apart from a few AA's fopr the transmitter. And this isnt bottom of the barrell equipemnt this is all quality stuff that fits your skill level well, and should last you a very long time.
