switching + and - will make it run reverse, correct? then whats the other wire do?
We are using brushless motors.
Three wires are utilized on brushless motors, to control different sets of magnets.
Don't think of this as + and -, rather think of these wires as determining the phase relationship of the electrical pulses.
Change any two wires and you change the way the ESC "pulls" the magnets around the central core.
It's the difference between a simple DC motor and a 3 phase AC motor.
