I built a Senior Kadet when they first came out. It was built as a conventional gear plane though. I used a Saito .45, 4 cycle engine. It was plenty of power and flew well. It took off in a few feet and when throttled back could stay aloft for as long as 45 minutes. It was designed as a trained and when built light and not overpowered, makes an excellent trainer. Touch and go's were a blast. However if you want to use it as a glider tow, parachute/bomb prop plane, then you might want to use a larger engine. The plane does have tremendous lifting capability. I see some at the local field with .60 engines on them and they do aerobatics with them, but I wonder why they don't just get a plane better suited for aerobatics in the first place.
Walter D, those are some good lookin' Seniors. I like the twin version. That's the first time I've seen that! Makes me want to build another Senior...twin style!
