Everytime I bring out my Evolution 1.00NX equipped Funtana 90S to the field I get the SAME comment.

Nice plane, good flyer, sorta loud.

Eh, well it's not really any louder than most of the mid sized 4 strokes we have at our field. e.g. anything bigger than 1.20 and up.

The problem is that the engine fires more often, and that is perceived as being louder... from a DB standpoint, it is not.

The noise is coming from the muffler not the prop on this plane. I've been down the path of attempting to quiet it down.

That said I've been very impressed how relatively quiet the AX and LA engines seem in comparison.

The latter of course produce less power, but they sure are soft sounding using exactly the same prop on their much noiser bretheren.
