My Evolution 46NT is MUCH quieter than my GMS engines. While flying it (LT-40) at any distance, its hard to hear
the engine running.

The Evolution muffler has an actual baffle. The GMS "mufflers" appear to be nothing more than
an expansion chamber (and a place to connect the fuel vent line).

Don't know about other engines though...
