the colors are the hardness or softness of the tire, i run on pavement and i run megenta color that is medium compound and it works great in the weather im in and for the power im running , im sure on carpet you want to run very soft tires so they grip good . but they will wear down fast too . but hey thats racing.....you can rotate the tires also to keep them the same ...hope this helps
