For fuel proofing it really doesn't matter much, paint, let it dry, epoxy over it OR

mix a small amount of paint in the epoxy and paint it on.

I use Testor's Plastic Enamel (a drop or two) mixed in with part A then add part B and go at it. If the paint matches the covering, you'll never see the glue joint!
