To set the record straight, The Hangar 9 Alpha package does not come with a Futaba radio, it comes with a JR. Depending on the most popular radios at someone's field, I would use that to help base my decision on which radio I would prefer to have in my airplane. Next, the Evo. .40 engine is a sport engine, and doesn't offer the flexibility of reusing it in the 2nd or 3rd airplane down the road as much as the .46 BB which probably put out 75% more Hp. and while the Tower engine is not broken-in, what better way to learn break-in and tuning than now. Every engine I had ever bought has been more and more expensive. Sure would be a shame to ruin an engine because no one ever showed you how to break one in when you were learning the ropes, besides its not that big a deal if your nice to people, and get help in return. That 3 blade prop on that .40 suffers trying to deliver thrust, better off with a 2 blade 10-6. The rest, the airframe is pretty similar. Keep in mind, while Horizon and Tower are both great companies in general to deal with, they are competitors, so don't put so much faith in the hype.
