Stewart,
You have definetly been doing this longer than I have.

I guess we are back to whatever works well for you is good and our little diesels will burn more than one kind of fuel.

I like hand starts too and can do it on my 6% ether, pump diesel mix but it has to be done just right and it probably won't work on a small engine without more ether.
