Andy,
Good pickup with the Tanaka engines , will look forwards to your diesel experiments with them.
Yes the mills will run either way, as will all sideport motors, they also suffer the same as cox reedies in sometimes not starting in the desired direction. Not a problem with electric or spring starters but sometimes frustrateing till the correct hand starting technique is learnt.
