Thanks for the information. My DA50s with Slimline pitts usually tachs around 6K, depending on prop.
Would you know if the 50 cc pefa canister from 3w would work well for this? From the 3W site I found only this description:

I know the MTW and KS canisters work well but have a line on the 3W one and no information beyond that.
The haeder recommended somewhere earlier in this thread is something called a '2.5 drop', which I assume can be easily ordered from TBM, Troy or such?

The MTW and KS canisters are three chamber silencers I belive, to get the same type of increase in performance without an undue increase in sound you need a similar spec, I know nothing of the Prefe cannister, but I know a man who would, go to the Gas Engines Support forum and look for Pe Rievers he inports all sorts of engines into Holland and is very knowledgable on all things silencers, if you can't find him on Gas Engines go to MVVS Support site.
