RE: NQD Hydro
No cheat this is a NQD speed storm Lt.
To classify it as Lt (Light) i spent an evening removing all the inside excess plastic IE screw holes, braces, water barrier to shave off 300g in excess dead plastic.
I Then joined the two hulls by filing a chamfer along the edges of the top and bottom hulls and applied epoxy into the groove, similar to butt welding.
After joining the two hulls i installed the hardware which was two 550 motors running two shafts and two K40 props (left and right).
The electrics burnt from the harness to connect the two Nimh 3300 packs 6volts each pack providing 12 volts at each motor.
Anyway i have removed this setup as this setup up required high amps to each motor which caused the electrical harness to burn and would reduce the run time even with thicker gauge wire.
I am going to back to my two motor belt drive system and single shaft, maybe use two 600bb motors this time with a 42 dia 1.4pitch prop.
keep up with the mods. we may even break the 35mph barrier.
