RE: PROTOS REVIEW
Hi all , just thought id update this ......Well i tryed my hand at racing this thing and the first thing i found out was tires tires tires! The owner of the track let me use his crimefighters and WOW what a difference this was. It went from not turning, to way too much. With the alum adjustable shocks, handling was far beond what it was stock. The next thing i did was to make the brakes adjustable ,2 Ball studs and a 10 or 12mm turnbuckle and it was good to go.The motor is good but it seemed to be a little slow off the line,so i added some ofna alum shooes with 1.1 springs with a 13 tooth cb ( for short tracks) and it was again ,a different animal .It shoots off the line like it should! I took out the greese in the diffs and tryed a 3,5,3 setup and might change it to 5,5,3 , but it was still good off the corners,no really bad unloading of the tires. I changed the pipe to a cvec duel stinger with the spring thingy in it and so far its proved to be worth the cost, great bottom end and mid range power. The servo's are not up to par for the track or anything eles for that matter. They didnt have enuf power to hold a turn steady or work the breaks with the force it needs to stop or even slow down,so i got a set of the MG995 servos from hong kong . They will stop and turn when you want to ,well worth the cash .With this setup , it was tested by a pro driver ( cause i suck as of now) and he blasted the feld over the 8's , 777's ect .He sed this thing rocks and wrote down all the mods i did just incase he gets one.So i know it can perform very good , just not stock !!!! I hope this helps someone out there with their Portos buggy. Bye the way i got a second with it my first time out !!!
