Thanks for the advice. I think what I might do is just buy the basic car as it comes, and buy the other items seperately so I can get the gun-style controller.

I'd like to clear something up though - I'm a bit confused. I thought that most RC cars required an on-board battery pack for all the electrics to run from. Does the 18SS come with one of those as standard (plus charger?)
