Default RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Ran the MT today and I am about ready to take the TZ out and get a CV as I am tried of my wheel hexes in the wheels stripping even with the metal hex and that was with a set of ware out tires. I all so shoot out my rear differential, which I cannot complain as it is my first ring and pinion in over 4 years I ever messed up. What got it was the screws from the ring gear backed out of the diff cup and striped the pinion from the ring gear not meshing properly. All so had a bearing going bad. I am going to gear it up even more and see if this helps.

I am running a 15 CB and a 49 spur. I am going to change the spur to a 47. Since I put the TZ in seems I cannot get more then a couple tanks of run time before tearing something up normally the wheel hexes. I all so am going to do a total service while I wait on the ring and pinion gears to get here. All ready put a 47 tooth spur and new bearings on the slipper, spur shaft. Will be changing shock oil and checking out the front dig.

I am all so thinking about JB Weld the metal hex in to a new set of wheels and see what happens.
