Another good way to start a gas 2 cycle engine is to give it a shot of pre-mixed fuel from a prime bottle. Prime with trottle wide open ...then place throttle back to idle and flip start or electric start it. Let it warm up good and then advancethe throttle. A shot of engine starting fluid works good too.
