Default RE: Effects of a large bypass with a small turbine?

Experience suggests that wrapping a pipe with ceramic blanket will turn the blanket brittle and useless. If you're going to make your own pipe, there is .008 sheet metal widely available at mcmaster.com (stainless) and you can make about 4 pipes for 80 bucks or so and do your own testing.

You can use safety wire to attach just about anything to the outside of a pipe.

6/32 screws will hold the pipe together, but you will need a punch to start a hole to drill through.
