How about this....A cone shaped pipe like Wren Turbines has developed wrapped in a ceramic blanket instead of being of dual wall construction. The ceramic blanket would actually help retain heat in the pipe but provide enough of an insulating value to not transfer excessive heat to the airframe----

Yes.. I think that is a good idea.. I have never used ceramic blanket but rcumember has..

I would think double wall pipe with the second wall of even thinner aluminum would work well..

I have allways used aluminum foil... Does not work very well... The inside of my plane gets very hot..
but its lightest of any.
