Sounds good. I was thinking instead of gear doors, using plastic containers of the correct diameter cut down to the appropriate depth and glued into the wheel opening from the inside. I wish Eric had incorporated some form of intake ducting even if he did not do a full bypass. From your photographs it looks like the ram air entering the fuselage will come up against a flat former and cause a lot of turbulence inside the fuselage and also slow the model down.
