Default RE: CMP Quest 50 ARF----????

HI All,
I completed my maiden flight on my new Quest 50 and found the CG incorrect. At least the way I measured it. The 95mm to 105mm might be correct but not if you measure the distance at the root of the wing. When I measured the CG from the root of the wing I had to add about 8 oz. of nose weight to balance the plane. The first flight required a lot of up elivator to keep the plane in level flight. I removed the the nose weight and rebalanced the plane by measuring the wing length from the root to the tip of the wing, than take the half the distance of the wing and measure the 95mm on both sides of the wing and balanced it at that point. (At the root of the wing the distance is about 5 3/4 inches.)
The second flight was much improved and required just a small amount of trim.
My engine is a Sato Fa 56.
Hope this helps you out
Ken
