Update on the 109.
I recieved the kit today nothing was broken or dammaged. It was douible boxed.
This a 109E model according to my books.
The fushalage is fiberglass with wing sockets molded in the fushalage with a 1/4 plyrunning through to both wing halaves. The bottom is solid and access is through the canope compartment This setup is like the Byron Corsair. An incidence meter is a must in order to get the wing the same on both sides. There is formers in side the fuselage one of the is loose .
Tha tail section will need some help to stiffen things up and to straighten it up. It is a little crooked.
The wing appears to be all sheeted with retract plates installed for smaller retracts. I have a set of used Centry Jet gear for a P51 <I think > 1/5 scale and a set of straight struts That I probbably use.
It takes a 4 1/4 spinner.
The cowl spinner plate is 6 in from the firewall which is 3/8 ply and glassed pretty good to the fusalage.
The canope is the worst patr of the kit. It is thin, and has tape for the framework.
The covering is good everywhere.
The accesery package is better than what I have seen before. It has WIRE pull pull cable for the rudder. And a wood dowel for the elev.
I didn't recieve any instructions at all. I emailed them just a few minutes ago.
The plane weighs 7 1/2 lbs with all that came with the kit.
I am thinking of using a YS 120 fs that I have or a G23 that I have also.
Now is it a good buy? If the wing doesen't come appart.<I don't think it will> on the first flight. It is not a KMP arf but it isn't $500 either. I might make a new canope for it. That will help alot.
I think it should be ready to fly with retracts for 15 lbs or less.
This isn't a top gun model but it can look desent. It should make a good everyday flyer.
