RE: 3w-28 stock vs 3w-28 competition
This thread has turned from a simple question about 2 grades of 3W-28 to a series of insults. Too bad.
In defense of 3W in general, I rely on these engines to pull very significant draggy loads through the air for long periods of time at WOT. Some say I torture the engines, but I like to think I am just pushing them to their design limits.
As previously stated, I have had no experience with the 28 but the 24 was a great engine. The 50 has held up extremely well to my flight regimes. The 106 gave me fits with shearing propeller bolts until Ralph volunteered a single bolt solution which works great. I have also been pushing the 150s and 200s to the limit with flawless service.
No engine is immune to damage when it strikes mother earth and Ralph is currently trying to heal a 200 which struck mother earth very hard.
We need to keep these threads more civil to assist the exchange of information which we all desire.
