O.S. Engines
Hey there,
I'm assembeling that ARF as well, and the engine I'll be using will be the O.S. Max .46FX. I've spoken to a few people at the LHS who fly this kite with the engine, and they assure me that the plane will fly very well with it.
Obviously if you pump it up to the .50 SX, you'll get that much more oomph out of it, but from everything I've heard, the .46 is a good way to go.
By the way, are you building it with retracts? I'm still debating on that issue. One reason being is that I've heard some negatives about the recommended Hobbico retracts, and haven't had much luck finding an alternative.
I also noted that you mentioned strengthened your ARF's. I've heard from a couple of guys that the ply landing gear plate can be weak. So I went to the shop and bought a new chunk of wood and made it to fit. So that should shore up against most problems there.
